Making a Transition
Breaker Technology Inc. (BTI), formerly known as Teledyne Specialty Equipment/CM Products, changed its name after the company was purchased by Astec Industries Inc.
"Our purchase by Astec was the greatest thing that has ever happened to this company," says Frank Cargould, president of BTI. Astec - the Tennessee-based conglomerate that owns companies such as Kolberg-Pioneer, Superior Industries, JCI, Telsmith and PEP - fully understands what BTI's business is about, and sees the company as a perfect fit.
"The company's products complement some of other companies' lines very well," says Robert Stafford, Astec's Group Vice President - Aggregates. "plus, we believe that good business is about establishing relationships with people, and BTI - with Frank at the helm - has done a very good job of that."
Cargould says that Astec's leadership will help BTI. "Dr. Don Brock, chairman and CEO of Astec, has a thorough understanding of all facets of the industry we are in," he says. "Having leadership that understands our products, industries and the markets we serve makes all of us excited about the future."
